Member of the Month – November

Merry-Cooper-180x180

This month we have the pleasure of speaking with Merry Cooper, Bowen Therapist and Volunteer Docent at 4 museums.

Merry is one of our longest-serving member, we will miss you and good luck on your move back home!

Briefly what is your role? I’ve been organising Bowen teachers to come to Singapore and train many Singaporeans as Bowen Therapists. I guide tours at four NHB museums here.

Any advice for doing business in Singapore and/or the region? Understand the local culture and never imagine that it works like things do “back home” or even in other countries in Asia.

When did you move to Singapore? Where from? 2010 from Melbourne, though I was working here in the 1980s and 90s.

Where were you born? What country do you call home? UK – home is where my toothbrush is..  I do have an Aussie passport. I left UK in 1969 and stopped over in Singapore on my way to live in NZ.

What do you like most about Singapore? The food, the people and the weather. Yes, I love the humidity. And the proximity to other countries in Asia.

What do you do to relax? Meditation, walking, swimming, visiting unusual places – did you know that there’s a hot spring in Singapore?
