In Singapore since 2012, Vivienne worked at Abbott Nutrition R&D Asia Pacific and as Deputy Director at an A*STAR institute. She is currently working on transitioning back to live in New Zealand and is working independently as an industry – academia go between. Vivienne was formerly the President of the NZ Chamber Singapore and has served as a board member since 2013. While in Singapore she has been involved in number of initiatives to support women and their career progress. These included the Women in Science networking group that seeks to encourage more Singaporean women into leadership roles and she was part of the working group to launch Women Leaders in Abbott to support women within Abbott in Singapore. She is a member of Global Women NZ and recently coordinated a visit from this organisation to look at diversity in Singapore and Malaysia. Vivienne’s PhD at the University of Auckland, looked at career paths of women in call centre workplaces investigating both the enablers and barriers to their career success.
