NZCC has adopted a set of information management guidelines, which serve as the basis for our customer and advertiser relationships. These guidelines disclose the privacy policies for NZCC Web sites. These guidelines have been developed with the recognition that Internet technologies are rapidly evolving, and that underlying business models are still not established. Accordingly, guidelines are subject to change. Any such changes will be posted on this page.

NZCC is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of other Web sites to which it may link. You must abide by the policies set out at such other Websites and bear all responsibility for any breach(s) arising from your non compliance.

The privacy policy herein is periodically reviewed by NZCC and may be subject to change. Therefore, please check this Privacy Policy periodically and you may refer to the date posted at the top of this page to determine when this policy was last updated. Use of the NZCC websites or Service(s) constitutes consent to any policies then in effect.

(a) What information does NZCC gather and/or track about you?

Registration

When you register to receive any services from a NZCC Web site, NZCC may require that you supply your full name, e-mail address, and demographic information etc. Customers who register must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use for use of the relevant service and/or NZCC Web site.

Surveys/Questionnaires

We occasionally ask NZCC Members or visitors to fill out optional surveys and/or questionnaires. These surveys/questionnaires may ask for demographic information and other information about or website and products and services.

Any information you submit in a survey or questionnaire is used to help us better understand and serve our Members. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis; we may share this aggregated data with advertisers or business partners.

Other Information

NZCC may also gather anonymous information, which may be used by NZCC or shared with third parties. This is information which does not personally identify you, but which may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer. Generally this information is collected through "traffic data" and may entail the use of "cookies," "IP addresses," or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.

Cookies

NZCC employs cookies to recognize you and your access privileges on certain sites to track site usage. Subscribers who do not accept cookies from the domain may not be able access certain areas of NZCC Web sites. Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your hard drive, not on our site. The use of cookies is an industry standard, generally used by most websites to improve their services. NZCC employs cookies to recognize you and your access privileges on this site. We do not track site usage using cookies. Google Analytics however may use cookies for these purposes. NZCC places advertisements which originates from outside advertisers and/or advertising agencies on NZCC Website. Some of these advertisements may contain cookies that are set up third parties. We do not have access to these cookies or any information that they may contain. Acceptance of cookies from domains other than the NZCC website is optional.

IP Addresses

NZCC also logs IP addresses for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. (Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.) We do not log IP addresses to track your session nor does NZCC link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.

Credit Card Information

If you use a credit card to pay for any NZCC or other form of subscription or fee, NZCC shall not be liable, to any extent and for whatsoever reason, if you should suffer any loss or damage (of whatsoever nature) as such payment systems are not admistered nor controlled by NZCC. NZCC shall also not be responsible for the security of any data or information you may furnish in the course of such credit card or Paypal payments. Your use of such third party payment systems shall be deemed your agreement to hold such third party providers liable for any loss or damage, whensoever and howsoever suffered by you and that you shall have no claim of any sort against NZCC.

Statistical Analysis and Banner Advertising

NZCC may perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of our site (for product development purposes) and to inform advertisers as to how many consumers have seen or "clicked" their advertising banners. NZCC also uses demographic information to allow advertising banners on our Web site to be targeted, in aggregate, to the readers for whom they are most pertinent. This means that readers see advertising that is most likely to interest them, and advertisers send their messages to people who are most likely to be receptive, improving both the viewer's experience and the effectiveness of the ads. In this statistical analyses and banner advertisement targeting, we will disclose information to third parties only in aggregate form. Personal information about you as an individual subscriber or registrant will not be provided to any third party, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, as described in our Terms and Conditions of Use.

Email

Using the e-mail addresses provided at registration, NZCC periodically sends promotional e-mail to its subscribers about services offered by NZCC and its advertisers. NZCC may contact you regarding account status, changes to the subscriber agreement, and to confirm registration. Occasionally, NZCC shares data collected about subscribers with other units within NZCC or third parties whose products or services we feel may be of interest to you. Many of our subscribers find these mail or e-mail promotions valuable, whether they are shopping for merchandise, taking advantage of a special offer or purchasing unique services. If you prefer not to receive promotional materials from NZCC, please see the "Opting Out" provision below.

Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online, including such security for credit card submissions.

Members Directory

Member registration profile details will be displayed in the Members Directory if the individual member accepts this option when completing their profile information. Corporate Head Office information is displayed in the Members Directory as part of their Corporate Membership Benefits. Members can only view the Members Directory.

Communication

We will use information that you enter or provided to NZCC(s) through member or event registration to notify you about important events, business articles and news, important functionality changes to the website, new services and special offers. Except for communications sent to you regarding company announcements or policy changes, if you would prefer not to receive this information you can indicate your preference. You may choose not to receive communication from us by following the opt-out instructions.

(b) Does NZCC(s) share member account information?

As a general rule, except as otherwise contemplated in the Privacy Policy, NZCC(s) will not disclose any of your personal information without your permission, except under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. We share aggregate information about our Members with third parties, such as advertisers or partners, for marketing and promotional purposes.

(c ) How private is my account information?

NZCC(s) makes every effort to ensure the confidentiality of all information you provide about yourself. As a general rule, except as otherwise contemplated in the Privacy Policy, NZCC(s) will not disclose any of your personal information without your permission, except under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. 

Personally identifiable data about you will be shared through the Members Directory if you, the member choose this option. 

As a NZCC(s) Member, you have exclusive access to your account information when you log in to www.nzchamber.org.sg using your Member Login details. Our administration staff also has access to your account information, which is viewed for reasons such as when technical support is requested or maintenance is required.

(d) How secure is my account information?

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. 

Credit Card transactions and security is processed through the Paypal service. NZCC(s) will not store your credit card information. 

Your NZCC(s) membership account is password-protected so only you and those you designate can access it and view the member information relevant to your account. Ultimately, you are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and any account information. Remember to log out of your NZCC(s) account and close your browser window when you are done. This ensures that others cannot access your personal information if your computer is accessible to others.

(e) How do I opt out of receiving messages from NZCC(s)?

Upon request, NZCC(s) will (a) remove you and your personal information from our database, thereby canceling your registration; (b) correct personal information that you state is erroneous; or (c) permit you to “opt out” of further email contact (except for communications sent to you regarding company announcements or policy changes) while still allowing access to the site. (f) How do I update or deactivate my membership?

You can control and update your profile information for your NZCC(s) membership by logging into your account and visiting the Profile tab within your domain. If you wish to cancel your membership, please contact the NZCC(s) info@nzchamber.org.sg

(g) With whom does NZCC share the information it gathers and/or tracks?

NZCC(s) shares the information it gathers, in aggregate form, with advertisers and other partners. We do not release personal information about you as an individual to third parties, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, as described in our Terms and Conditions of Use. NZCC (s) will provide you all of your personal information provided at registration upon request. This information will only be sent to the e-mail address on file for the subscriber ID associated with it.

Discussion Groups: NZCC Web sites may from time to time, offer a variety of discussion groups, chat areas, bulletin boards, and message boards ("Forums").While it is our intention that these Forums be used by its subscribers and the public, the Forums may be freely accessible to anyone. These guidelines do not cover the transfer of information in this context. Any information you disclose when posting a message in the Forums becomes public. Moreover, users who post a message in the Forums make their e-mail address available to others, which could result in unsolicited e-mail from other users or third parties. You should always be careful when distributing your personal information in this manner. 

If you choose to participate or post messages in NZCC’s Forums, we will collect such information about you as you choose to disclose. If you use a third-party service co-branded by NZCC, the third-party service provider may provide information about you to NZCC. If you send NZCC personal correspondence, such as e-mails or letters, or if other users or third parties send correspondence to law.com about your activities or postings on a NZCC Web site, NZCC may collect such information into a file specific to you. 

The Forums are intended for use by subscriber and the public. The Forums are not for use by consumers seeking legal or any form of professional advice. The Forums may be used only for noncommercial purposes. You may not post any material concerning promotion, advertising, or solicitation for goods or services. From time to time the Forums may be monitored by NZCC in order to maintain professional decorum and to prevent prohibited uses of the Forums. NZCC reserves the right to remove any material, message or discussion thread that is, in the sole judgment of NZCC, inappropriate. (h) A Special Note About Children

Children are not eligible to use NZCC(s)’s services with the exception of the Kiwi Youth page. We ask that minors not submit any personal information to us. If you are a minor, you may use this service only in conjunction with a parent or guardian.
